One More Win Should Secure Survival
Roy Hodgson greeted yesterdays comeback victory over Sunderland by saying one more win should see us safe this season.
Speaking to wba.co.uk Hodgson thinks 42 points will be enough for us given we now sit 7 points clear of the bottom 3.
'I think we need 42 points, there won't be bottles of champagne being uncorked until the 42 mark is reached. With so many teams involved, the teams at the bottom are going to have to play unbelievably well to get 11 points from their remaining six games.'
It's the right way of looking at it, and it should help keep the boys focused. 42 means we aren't mathematically safe, but as Hodgson says it's very unlikely we'd be passed once we reach that level. And of course the relief at being all but safe should see us secure a few more points anyway.
