Roy Not After Revenge

Roy Hodgson has said he has no need to look for revenge when we face Liverpool, as he doesn't have anything to prove.

Speaking to wba.co.uk Hodgson said that he prefers to live in the present, as opposed to the past, and the Liverpool blip was 6 months out of a 36 year career, and he knows which one he'd look at as a measure of his quality as a manager.

'I don't have any feelings of revenge, I don't need to prove points. The people that are there know the work I did and were fully respectful of the job I did and realise that it was circumstances more than any lack of competence which prompted the owners to change the manager.'

In recent days both Steven Gerrard and Kenny Dalglish have come out in support of Hodgson and he's grateful for that.

'It's nice to hear them say it publicly, I know those things privately but it's nice it's also mentioned publicly from time to time.'

The game is certainly set up nicely, regardless of the talk Hodgson would certainly relish 3 points tomorrow and there are no doubt elements at Liverpool who would like to get one over their former boss. It's certainly set up to be a good game!
