Premiership Survival Is Like Snakes And Ladders

Roy Hodgson has compared this seasons Premier League to a game of snakes and ladders wherein 3 points can catapult a team up or down the league.

Speaking to wba.co.uk following our 2-2 draw against Arsenal on Saturday we have 8 games remaining to secure our safety, Roy pointed out that a solitary 3 points is the difference between the bottom eight placed teams.

Hodgson believes that it shows that even the so called lowly Premiership teams are organising themselves well and that the spread of quality players isn't solely bottle necked in the top few teams anymore.

'That's a credit to the managers and coaches that work in the league, the money that's coming into the game means even the teams at the bottom are signing international class players.'

Compared to most season, he says this is the toughest the league has been for years, because nobody is truly resigned to going down yet and no teams have allowed themselves to be lost in a gap of points at the bottom.

'This year nobody's got divorced, nobody has been left behind. You're talking about one conglomerate of teams, all of whom can go from next to bottom to mid table with one victory. It's snakes and ladders, it really is.'

It's certainly the strangest league for a long time, it's that tight that every point counts and fingers crossed we'll get enough of them as we battle away to edge ourselves up the table with games to spare.
