Hodgson On Olsson and Scharner Injuries

The Baggies boss is waiting to hear the full extent of Jonas Olsson's heel problem that reared it's head again today, whilst the signs are good for Scharner's concussion.

Speaking to wba.co.uk about our walking wounded from todays Arsenal clash, Hodgson said of Olsson's heel issue.

'He has a problem with his heel, that's a concern for us. He's having treatment at the moment but I don't know what state he'll be in.'

Roy praised the player for fighting through it and turning in a stellar performance in the second half, where he could've easily have been replaced at half time.

The main worry is that Olsson will need another period of time out with the injury, after missing two and a half months earlier in the season with the same issue.

As for Paul Scharner who had to be subbed at half time with concussion, Hodgson says he's walking and he's talking and not in the back of an ambulance so the signs are as good as they can be at the moment.

'Concussion is one of those tricky things, he doesn't feel good and he'll suffer some sort of nausea. It's important for the next few days that he keeps a low profile and stays close to the doctors.'

Hodgson also adds that he thinks the Austrian FA should allow him time to recover from the blow as opposed to demanding that he travels for international commitments at the moment.
