Carson To Repay Roy's Faith

Scott Carson has said he is determined to repay the faith shown in him by new gaffer Roy Hodgson after he was restored to the starting line up for the last two matches.

Speaking to wba.co.uk as the team are preparing to host Arsenal this weekend, Carson said he was somewhat surprised to see Roy give him the nod against Stoke as Myhill had played in the previous 6 matches, but he was determined to take that opportunity with both hands.

'I didn't really have an inkling I was playing until I went in on the day, I had just kept my head down and worked hard in training - he gave me a lot of confidence by putting me back in and hopefully I can repay him.'

Carson adds that players out of the team aren't sulking because the whole camp know they are in this together and for himself it's a case of what's best for the team at the point and he accepted that when he was dropped.

'We've all in this together, whoever is playing. If we don't play well we'll get relegated and that will be a huge disappointment for the whole squad, not just the people who are playing. The times have gone of people being a bit sulky, not wanting the team to win and trying to upset the camp. I don't think we've got many players, if any, who are like that.'
