Jonas Olsson has said he was surprised to see Abdoulaye Meite in the squad for Stoke given how little he had played, but his performances have justified the recall.
Speaking to wba.co.uk Olsson said he was enjoying playing alongside Meite again after their partnership last season, and he believes his performances are as good as ever.
'I was surprised when he was picked, but you always get changes when a new gaffer comes in. I played with Abou a lot before and I enjoy playing alongside him.'
Not only does Olsson praise him for slotting back into the first team so well, he also hails him for his professionalism during his spell out of the side.
'Credit to him, he hadn't played in a good few months but he was still in a good mood and trained hard. He's good to have in the team.'
Hodgson's certainly sticking to his promise that everybody in the squad will have their part to play as the season draws to a close and it's good to see so many of them are taking that chance to perform and impress when called upon.
