Brunt: Odemwingie Made An Immediate Impact

Chris Brunt has had a Peter Odemwingie day, this time he discusses how quickly the striker settled and how quickly fellow players warmed to him.

Speaking to wba.co.uk Brunt explained that despite only having one days training prior to his debut against Sunderland, the players instantly warmed to him as his quality was available for all to see as he bagged us the winner.

'He instantly gained a lot of respect against Sunderland, and he was thrown straight in. I think he only trained with us once.'

Brunt adds that Odemwingie has dealt well with the pressure to score goals this season given how easily we have been leaking them in defence, especially as he was often deployed as a lone striker.

'With the goals we've conceded, there's been a lot of pressure but he has handled that. He's kept coming back and all you can ask of your strikers is that they keep getting in the right positions.'

Having experienced a bit of a goal draight of late, Brunt is however confident that he'll soon find his scoring boots again simply because he does keep getting into good positions, so it is only a matter of time before he puts another one away.
