Belief Has Returned, Says Scharner

Paul Scharner has said that Roy Hodgson has brought some belief back to the dressing room and the newly acquired confidence went a long way in our 3-1 win over Blues.

Speaking to wba.co.uk on what must be Paul Scharner interview day, he the team were delighted to get the victory they deserved at the weekend given all the hard work that had been put in during training, and he's hopeful that the new work ethic and the boost of confidence the players have received will fire us to more victories over the coming weeks.

'We've tried very hard over the last few games to get the win and we got it right, so congratulations to the whole team. We fought until the end and I think we deserved to win.'

With the changes that have taken place Scharner has no doubts over whether or not we will now survive relegation as he adds.

'Everyone is focused and Roy has brought some belief back to the team. The last three games we have deserved the points and its absolutely possible that we can survive. We certainly believe we can survive.'

One thing that stands out from the derby was the double booking wrestling match he and Liam Ridgewell were preoccupied with during the game. Scharner takes a light hearted view of it by saying.

'I tried to get rid of him but it was impossible because he was like a monkey on my back. I don't know what he was doing. It was wrestling, but not from me.'
