Hodgson Hails Players After First Win

Hodgson Hails Players After First Win

Roy Hodgson has hailed the determination of the players following their performance in our 3-1 victory over Blues today.

Having seen a marked improvement against Wolves bettered when we faced Stoke, Roy was delighted to see the team get the 3 points that they deserved as they again stepped up their efforts in todays derby clash.

Speaking to wba.co.uk after the game, the gaffer said.

'Football is about players, not coaches. Today I think our players will feel very satisfied.'

They certainly should, but praise should also be given to the boss for making the right changes at the right time.

'As the game warms up the more talented players get hold of the ball a bit better, that was certainly the case today.'

Praising both Fortune and Odemwingie, the boss added.

'Peter's been suffering with injuries but I think Fortune has been doing a good job for us as well. The way the first half panned out he did a very good job. I had a feeling the second half would be slightly less frenetic and tight in midfield...Peter comes into his own there and he did a good job.'

Here's to the first of many wins!
