Appleton Looking For Psychological Blow

In tomorrow's early derby against Blues, Michael Appleton has called on the players to dent Blues' survival hopes while they are on a League Cup high.

Speaking to wba.co.uk Appleton says a convincing victory against Blues would be a huge psychological blow for our rivals as we head towards the end of the season.

'We're in a good frame of mind after Stoke, but it also depends on the frame of mind the Birmingham lads will be in. Obviously, they'll be on a high. Psychologically we know that three points for us, would be massive. You've got a situation where it's a Midlands derby but there is a lot more on the game that just being a derby.'

Given the high you'd expect Blues to be on, it would be a hell of a come down if we could take all 3 points and if we can help push them into a confidence wobble it could make our task of staying up far easier.
