Meite: The Really Hard Work Begins Now

Abdoulaye Meite has thanked the gaffer for giving him a fresh start at Albion, but he knows the really hard work for him has just begun.

Speaking to wba.co.uk Meite stated he must prove his worth to the Baggies fans and now that he's been granted a chance, if anything, he knows his workrate must now go up so Hodgson doesn't regret bringing him back into the fold.

'I have something to prove to myself. I also feel I have to prove to the people at this club and the fans.'

Meite may be in his third season at the Hawthorns but prior to the Stoke game he had only made three Carling Cup appearances, but he was bouyed by the words of Roy Hodgson when he joined the club.

'I spoke with the gaffer when he arrived and he said that if I worked hard, I could be in the team. I started my first game for a while on Monday and I have to keep working hard to play again.'

Meite is obviously hoping he can keep his place this weekend because he felt he did alright against Stoke.

'I found out I was playing on the morning of the game and I just said in my head 'this is my chance and I have to take it'. I'm not only good in the physical battles against the big lads of Stoke, I believe I can play aswell. It will be similar on Saturday, it's a derby and another big game.'
