Steven Reid praised Abdoulaye Meite for a sterling performance after his shock recall to the Baggies side for our clash against Stoke.
Speaking to wba.co.uk Reid described Meite's performance as 'magnificent' and remains convinced that he's just given manager Roy Hodgson a serious defensive headache.
'Abou deserves a special mention. He hasn't started a league game all season but he came in and was magnificent. Hopefully there is a future for him at the club, he kept his head down, kept working and he looks like he might have a big part to play this season.'
Reid was in a praise giving mood during the interview, as he also applauded the competition we have for places between the sticks.
'We know what Scott Carson can do, he has played at the highest level, played for England and it wasn't a problem with him coming in.'
It certainly bodes well as we head into the final games of the season that Hodgson can confidently call on those previously out of favour and make changes without us suffering for it on the pitch.
It should all help competition, and it should drive the players on and more importantly it allows people to rest and recover properly so they can be guaranteed of giving 100% in every match they are selected for.
