Consistency Is Hodgson's Aim

Roy Hodgson has said that he doesn't want the fightback against Wolves to be a catalyst for our season, he simply wants consistency in our performances.

Speaking on wba.co.uk the new gaffer explained that he doesn't believe in catalyst's during a season because things can become pretty flat if you then fail to perform in the next game, and people focus on the cliches rather than what it truly needed.

'Was out late goal against Wolves a catalyst? I don't think we should be looking for catalysts. what we should be looking for is consistency of performance.'

Hodgson adds that after each and every game the team should be looking at themselves and judging whether they did everything they possibly could to win the game, and individually did they rise to the level of performance expected from them.

'I'm a bit worried about talking about catalysts because you can say 'Sunday was a catalyst' and then go to Stoke on Monday and lose the game...where do you go from there?'

So instead the boss will be drilling players to ensure they give the same level of work rate, the same level of commitment, discipline and organisation that saw us improve defensively in the recent derby, and even better still, improve on it.

'I'm hoping the confidence of the team will have improved somewhat because we were playing against a difficult side on Sunday.'

Well if Odemwingie's confidence is the standard amongst the camp, then hopefully Roy has got his wish.
