Valero Going Nowhere

Sporting Director Dan Ashworth has reiterated the clubs stance on the want away Borja Valero and will not be bullied into letting the Spaniard leave if a suitable offer is made.

The 25 year old spent last season on loan at Real Mallorca and is keen to remain in Spain and it appears that Sevilla is Valero`s preferred destination.

Ashworth told ABC Sevilla:
'The first thing I have to say is that we have not had a formal offer
'I know there is interest because that is what has been said, but there has been no clear movement in this direction.
'It is one thing that Borja Valero wants to sign for Sevilla and quite another that we have an agreement to ensure a transfer.
'First, they have to make an offer, and then we will analyse it. What I will say is that we are not going to undersell the player.
'If we reach an agreement, because I do know the player's wish is to continue in the Spanish league, then good, but if not, Borja Valero will have to join West Brom for training because he belongs to our club.'
Whilst there is no point keeping an unhappy player on the books, credit must go to the Baggies management for their firm stance on the situation.
