Hungarian captain Zoltan Gera has told reporters that he plans on staying at The Hawthorns next season even though the Baggies will be playing in the Championship.
Gera has been linked with a move away from The Hawthorns and was the subject of a bid from Premiership side Wigan Athletic just two weeks ago.
The Hungarian international has been a revelation at Albion since his move from Ferencvaros in 2004 and has become a huge fan favourite thanks to his all action displays.
Gera has been linked with a move away from The Hawthorns ever since the Baggies relegation was confirmed.
Everton, Villa and Bolton were all linked with the midfielder but Wigan were the only team to come in with an offer.
The offer from Wigan was flatly refused by Albion and Gera looks set to stay and help us in our Championship season.
When asked about his future Gera said, 'I have a contract with West Brom for one more year and I start training with West Brom soon.
'Yeah I think so I will stay.
'After this season I spoke with the manager and he said he wants all the players to stay at West Brom and we want to go up again to the Premier League.'
This is great news for everyone connected with the club, Gera is a huge talent and we missed his goals from midfield last season. He is a great playet to watch and will play a major part for us next season.
