Looking every bit a confident Premier League side in the making, Albion swaggered 2-0 past a jittery Middlesbrough and marched on towards their most successful season points tally of all-time.
A wonderful strike by Simon cox at the end of the first half was doubled by the industrious Man-of-the-Match Roman Bednar ten minutes into the second.
Bednar was at the heart of most of the Baggies' pressure, although the Boro defence were having one of those days - all sixes and sevens.
Bednar is obviously hoping to get his chance to lead the front line when we return to the top flight, after not really getting many chances last season. Maybe with the right person up alongside him he has a case.
The Czech Republic striker was restricted to 12 starts and 14 substitute appearances last season - scoring six times.
But despite spending so much of that season out of the action he maintains that, 'I learnt so much last year. I wasn't playing so I know what you need to do to play and I think I am doing it.
'I want to play in the Premier League for the rest of my life and I will do anything to do that.'
He also revealed he loved the fact that West Brom are always, 'under pressure because we are always looking to get promoted or trying not to get relegated.'
And added: 'That's why I love this club. It makes you work really hard.'
Well, let's not have to work too hard next season. Please.
