£3m signing Nathan Ellington has been backed by Robson to gain full fitness and help shoot the Baggies to Premiership safety.
The 24 year old hot shot joined West Brom from Wigan in the summer and despite struggling to find his form, Robson believes he has what it takes to be a Hawthorns hit. With just two Carling Cup goals to his name, he certainly has some work to do.
His fitness and form have been affected by knee and shoulder injuries. He was due to play at the weekend against West Ham but was given leave after his wife gave birth. Rumours a month or so back suggested 'The Duke' was unhappy and could be heading back to Wigan, but the Baggies and Wigan boss Paul Jewell were very quick to dismiss the reports.
Robson said: 'Nathan had this knee ligament injury and a shoulder injury so his fitness has held him back. He also had a real concern over his wife but now she's had the baby hopefully he can settle down and concentrate on his football. We have to get the best out of him. There's a lot to come from Nathan.'
Like goals we hope?!
Robson said: 'He's got pace, he's powerful but he's not played in the Premiership before so mentally he has to be strong to take that on board...He may still need time to settle because this division is new to him.'
