Olsson approves of spending
Jonas Olsson has revealed that he is is confident that the introduction of new signings on higher wages would not upset Albion's dressing room spirit.
In fact, he considers it essential in order to increase their chances of Barclays Premier League survival: 'It's cynical but simple - if you pay greater salaries you get better players,' he said.
And he has backed the chairman's stance of paying market-rate wages to the right standard of players as a way of improving on last season's strategy.
'I would definitely like to see that kind of player coming in,' said Olsson.
'Good players are always welcome. For me, the issue isn't what the person next to me earns, whether it's less or more; it's irrelevant.'
Although he did point out that he was only 'speaking for myself' it does look likely that there will be some attempt made next season to offer salaries that will attract a higher calibre of player to the club.
