Nathan Ellington has today insisted that he is looking forward to a full pre-season at The Hawthorns so that he is in top condition for the start of the Championship season in August.
Ellington had been linked with a move to former club Wigan Athletic after his former boss Paul Jewell said he would bring him back to the JJB in the future.
Jewell hinted to reporters when asked about Ellington's future that he was a fan of the striker, he said 'It is no secret that I am a big fan of his,'
So far it has not gone that well for him at West Brom.'
I have not been in contact with his agent or the club.'
Ellington spoke today and reassured the fans that he was hoping to be in top form for August.
Ellington said, 'This year, I'm determined to hit the ground running.
'As well as the usual fitness plan we have all been given by the coaching staff, I'll be doing some running and weights to give me a head start going into pre-season.'
On the challenge ahead he added, 'The Championship has always been a tough division, but we're well equipped to challenge for promotion and I'm confident we can get back up.'
Rumours between Baggies fans were growing and everyone was wondering why there had been no comment made by Ellington concerning his future at the club.
His interview today has helped to ease some of the tension building up and hopefully he will get his head down and work hard during the summer to be on form for August.
Ellington has a point to prove to the Baggies fans who have yet to see the best of the striker and if he can get fit there is no doubting the strikers ability.
Will Ellington be here come the start of the season, can he be Championship top scorer, do you back him? Discuss it now on the message boards.
