Coca Cola Championship awards

Hoping not to bring the kiss-of-death to our promotion plans, the Coca-Cola Championship award nominations have been announced.

Albion boss Roberto Di Matteo has been nominated for the Manager-of-the-Month Award after a run of five straight wins and a draw.

Also in the running are Newcastle's Chris Hughton, Reading's Brian McDermott and Doncaster Rovers' Sean O'Driscoll.

The winner will be announced between on Saturday's Gillette Soccer Saturday show on Sky Sports News.

Graham Dorrans picks up a nomination for the Player-of-the-Month Award and faces competition from Newcastle's Peter Lovenkrands, Reading's Gylfi Sigurdsson and QPR's Adel Taarabt.

Scoring a bunch of goals in games against Preston and promotion rivals Blackpool and Swansea took his season tally to 16. As well as impressing the judges, this also has attracted the interest of Aston Villa who are watching his form very closely.

Allegedly.

The winner will be announced between 9am and 10am on Saturday's Soccer AM show on Sky Sports 1.
