Di Matteo signs... another midfielder

We're slightly under enthused that Di Matteo has signed another midfield player. Okay, we know he will provide some cover for the injured Jara but we are looking pretty well catered for in the middle of the park.

The loan signing in question is that of Wigan`s Ben Watson until the end of the season, although Wigan have the option to recall him after the Coventry City clash on March 24. He has spent the last three months on loan at QPR.

Roberto explains: "Having lost Gonzalo Jara for the remainder of the season to injury, we have been looking to strengthen the central midfield area and we are very pleased that Ben has joined us.

"Ben is very good technically and is a competitive player who knows the Championship very well.

"He has played many times at this level and knows what is required, which should help him to hit the ground running."

Vital WBA is looking for the boss to sign some strong defensive cover, especially after the humiliating defeat at Bristol City, and not just players that 'have played many times at this level.'
