Nouble signs in time for Scunthorpe

Anyone that watched Drogba's destruction of Arsenal can only be chuffed to bits that a young former team-mate of his is on his way to the Albion.

The powerful West Ham and ex-Chelsea striker Frank Nouble has signed for an initial month's loan with the Baggies and will be in time to be to make the squad for tomorrow's league visit of Scunthorpe.

Nouble's period with Albion will also include games against Cardiff, Bristol City, Derby, QPR and Sheffield Wednesday, all in the League.

Unfortunately the 18 year old is cup-tied for the FA Cup game against Reading. But at least we got there ahead of Newcastle who were also hoping to sign this 6ft 3in powerhouse.

Nouble could provide perfect cover for the injured Ishmael Miller and we've also got to manage without Jerome Thomas for FOUR games after his sending off at Plymouth.

Di Matteo said: 'Frank is an exciting, young player who I am delighted to welcome to the club. He can play in any of the three forward positions - down the middle, wide left or wide right.'

'Frank's main attributes are that he is powerful, quick and good on the ball but we mustn't forget he is still very young.'

Nouble made his West Ham first-team debut as a late sub in the 2-0 win at Wolves on the opening day of the season and went on to make eight further senior appearances.
