'If It's Football, It's Vital'

WBA v Sheffield United - team update

Reports from the official site that the fitness of Graham Dorrans and Roman Bednar is in question for today's home clash with Sheffield United.

Current star play-maker Dorrans picked up a hip problem in Tuesday's 1-1 draw at Ipswich and is awaiting the results of a scan on his injury.

In the same match Bednar limped away with a bruised foot and may not have recovered in time.

Chris Brunt needed a stitch in a head wound following a clash what turned out to be quite a bruising encounter - he is almost certain to be fit to face the Blades.

'Roman has got a big bruise on his foot from the other night,' said Roberto Di Matteo.

'We've sent Dorrans for a scan as well because he's got a problem with his hip flex. We'll have to wait to assess them again and see how much they improve and what the problem is.'

Good news though is that new signing Marcus Haber is eligible to face Sheffield United after receiving international clearance. Also, Abdoulaye Meite has reported back from African Nations Cup duty with Ivory Coast and is likely to start.
