Japanese international Junichi Inamoto has said that he would like to speak to his manager concerning his plans for next season.
Inamoto has found himself starting more games from the bench in recent weeks with the return of Nigel Quashie from suspension.
The Japanese international is expected to be part of his countries squad for this summers World Cup and he is hoping to sort his future before he leaves for the tournament.
Inamoto said, 'I haven't spoken yet to the manager or my agent but, whether I play in the Championship or at another level is something I need to consider.
'If the manager is thinking of keeping all the midfield players and if the situation is that I can't get a regular starting place in the Championship then it may be a problem.
'There is a big difference between sitting on the bench in the Premiership to sitting on the bench in the Championship.
'That is something I need to discuss with the manager. I will be 27 this year and if my situation is that I cannot get a regular place then there will be a doubt over my future at this club.'
So Inamoto would be happy to stay if he is guaranteed first-team football, I doubt Bryan Robson will be able to guarantee this for him though.
There is no doubt that Inamoto is a class act but whether he is what we need next season is another question. I would expect him to move on this summer and maybe back home to Japan.
