At this time of the year (ie. the end) it is always the done thing to reflect on the achievements of the previous 12 months.
In our case, it is a chance to have a look at who you've voted as this season's best player so far.
In reverse order:
3rd place - Jerome Thomas
Thomas joined Albion on a two-year deal in August, and has been a revelation of speed and inventiveness ever since.
Six goals so far this season, the former Charlton and Arsenal midfielder has shown that he can link well with the front men and it has been a joy to see his counter-attacking bursts from midfield.
2nd place - Gonzalo Jara
Another Roberto Di Matteo signing, the Chile international joined Albion in a £1.4million deal on August 25, 2009.
The ex-Colo Colo defender signed a three-year contract after being scouted while playing for Chile Under-23s at the Toulon tournament in 2008.
A versatile and classy player, Jara can play defensively as centre-back and full-back but has had the most influence this season working as a holding midfielder. With an eye for the pinpoint cross up-field, Jara will also be one to watch in South Africa this summer.
1st place - Graham Dorraans
A favourite of the Hawthorns and a worthy winner of our poll, Dorrans was rewarded for his rapid progress with a new three-year Albion deal in May 2009.
A series of impressive displays in central midfield at the end of last season has led to Dorrans becoming an established first team regular in the Championship.
With five goals so far this season, Dorrans shows the kind of steely, attack minded play that has helped to define our successful counter attacking style.
Thanks to all of you that voted in our poll.
Have a happy New Year and we'll see you in 2010.
