West Brom prepare for Meite absence

Albion defender and Ivory Coast international Abdoulaye Meite now looks almost certain to be in his nation`s squad for next month in Angola.

If picked the 29-year-old will have to report for international duty straight after the Boxing Day clash with Peterborough. That could leave Roberto Di Matteo with only two centre-backs, Jonas Olsson and Shelton Martis, for the Scunthorpe game on December 28th.

Di Matteo added: "He will not be available after the Peterborough game and will leave before the Scunthorpe game."

Luckily the January transfer window is only round the corner leaving us an opportunity to reinforce the squad in the New Year.

What happened to Sol Campbell, we all cry?
