West Brom injury worries

On the injury front we have Jerome Thomas (back strain) and Filipe Teixeira (thigh) who both missed training today and are doubtful for the Sheffield Wednesday game.

Also, Robert Koren is unlikely to be available after seeing specialist this afternoon to fully assess a hernia problem.

On the official site Roberto Di Matteo explained: 'Jerome Thomas has a little strain in his back. Roko (Koren) has a hernia problem, he is seeing a consultant surgeon today.'

He added that the visit was just to 'get a correct assessment of his injury and to see what the procedure is from there.'

With the trio of midfielders affected the boss is under a bit of pressure to get the balance right in the side for Saturday. He said: 'We're struggling a little bit today but we still have a few hours before Saturday's game.'

Joe Mattock is also a major doubt after suffering a badly bruised foot during the 4-1 win over Bristol City, five days ago.

To make matters worse, the flu bug has struck both Shelton Martis and Roman Bednar. Di Matteo said: 'Shelton fell ill yesterday and we sent him home. Roman has been ill for five days.'

Although the official word is that it's NOT swine flu.
