West Brom eye up likely lad Tamas

West Brom transfer target Gabriel Tamas is proving to be quite a news story as his off-field night club antics cause ructions at his club Dinamo Bucharest.

Tamas, who is on loan at Dinamo from French club Auxerre, received disciplinary action earlier this month, having been spotted in a nightclub before missing training the following morning.

The centre-back, 25, is believed to be a potential new signing candidate after Roberto Di Matteo travelled to Romania to scout several players.

More recent reports of further late night antics look likely to test the patience of the club to breaking point, resulting in more disciplinary action and a reason to let him move to The Hawthorns.

On the other hand he could have just scuppered the whole deal - it's not really the kind of disciplined behaviour we need, is it?

I hear alarm bells, but I also hear news of a potentially important signin . Which do I hear the loadest ?.

The bells, the bells! I think the press do tend to exaggerate these stories, as if footballers have never indulged in this kind of thing before, but if a club has fined the player it's clearly quite a serious breach of trust.
