Beattie becomes a Blade

Craig Beattie has signed for Sheffield United on loan until the end of the season.

Beattie, who was recalled from his loan at Crystal Palace and contributed a goal in the 2-0 home win over Tottenham in December, has been sent packing again following the arrivals of Fortuné, Simpson and Menseguez, all of whom are vying for the forward berths at the club.

In his spell at Palace he scored five goals in fifteen games for Warnock's men, and has now joined that gaffer`s old club, where Kevin Blackwell will hope this Beattie can replace the goals of the Beattie they have just sold to Stoke and fire them into the playoffs.
