'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Two departures for Albion

Today West Brom announced that bit-part strikers Bartosz Slusarski and Sherjil MacDonald had left the club, the former perminantly whilst MacDonald, the young Dutchman, has joined Belgian first division side Roeselare until the end of the season.

Slusarski only made one appearance in the stripes in 17 months at the Hawthorns, having loan spells at Blackpool and Sheffield Wednesday whilst he was here. He cost around £700k, which although a pittance in today's football economy is still a sum of money that is conspicuous by its absence in this transfer window, when it has been said that Mowbray does not even have the money to fund the wages of loan signings.

MaacDonald has made several substitute appearances for us this year but looks very short of confidence when he does play despite a prolific spell for Hereford last season. It remains to be seen whether he will come back to us next year and make an imapact or whether this loan is to put him in the shop window so he can earn a move away in the summer.
