West Brom - Martis sent out on loan

Shelton Martis has been given the opportunity of first class football with a one-month loan move to Doncaster Rovers.

The Baggies have allowed the Netherlands Antilles defender to join the Championship side for a month to cover an injury crisis at the Yorkshire club. He went straight into the team against Swansea, and was part of the side that kept a clean sheet.

Martis has never received any prolonged time in the stripes, and even though we look light at the back (to say the least) it is unlikely that Mowbray's former Hibernian workmate would have been troubling the first team at B71.

The loan will give Martis the opportunity to gain some match sharpness if he is needed here, whilst also putting him in the shop window if his future is not entwined with the Baggies. Good luck Shelton.
