Scott Carson signs for the Baggies!!!

West Bromwich Albion have beaten rivals, Stoke City, to the signature of Liverpool and England keeper Scott Carson.

Carson has signed a 4 year deal and the Baggies have paid a fee of £ 4 million for his services.

The signing of 22 year old Carson, who spent last season on loan at Aston Villa, will surely delight West Brom fans who have been crying out for a new keeper since the beginning of last season.

Carson started his career at Leeds United making three first team appearances before his transfer to Liverpool in 2005. The young keeper made only four appearances for Liverpool in his time there but he has enjoyed loan spells at Sheffield Wednesday, 9 appearances, Charlton, 36 appearances and at Villa where he made 35 appearances.

So West Brom have signed a keeper who has Premier League experience but one who also has international experience. Carson has made 29 appearances for England under 21`s and 2 appearances for England 'B`. Last season also saw him break into the England first team something he surely must be targeting again this season.

It is great news that a young English player has chosen the Hawthorns to progress his career. We wish him all the best for a long and successful career with the Baggies.

Great bit of news. This signing really show what the Albion are about now. It's going to happen for us this season, and for the foreseable future. If we can keep TM he'll have us regularely in the top half, and winning the odd cup. Brilliant.

Good signing for you. Carson will only get better with age.

22 for a goalie is like 18-19 for any outfield player. Good signing for WBA

Albion fans are quite rightly getting excited about this deal. There are a few more permanent signings yet to come plus there will be a couple of loan signings.
Lord Shepherd
take him.
los_angeles_villan
Would you rather have Carson or Guzan LA Villan?
Lord Shepherd
Over rated keeper but not bad business for under £4m. This will**** Deano off as well.

Be interesting to see how he does, he looked very panicked at times last season but every now and then pulled off outstanding saves. Only young, loads of learning to do, could be a good one!
The Fear
Good Keeper and young can only get better.

If he can steer clear of injuries he really could be the difference between staying up and going down. Good signing.
