Kevin Phillips still to decide on future

The agent of Kevin Phillips, Phil Smith, has revealed that the Baggies marksman has still to decide where he will be plying his trade this season.

Super Kev has received offers from two other clubs that he would like to consider before making his decision. However, Phil Smith admitted that the lure of the Premier League may be too strong to resist.

One factor that could prevent Phillips from signing is Albion's pursuit of Shola Ameobi. Competition up front is already very strong and it may be that the addition of another forward will convince Kevin that he will not feature as much as he would hope for.

Phil Smith confirmed that there were no issues to be resolved over the length of contract.

I hope and expect that KP will be here for the start of pre season training. His goals could be all important in firing the club to survival.

interesting to see talk of survival - do you not feel you could finish a little higher than that under Mowbary?

I think we will finish 15th but I will settle for survival. Scoring goals will be important and Phillips can magic them from nowhere. Our other strikers do not quite have that same ability.

Only after survival??? your team is good enough to go for a place in Europe.

We shall see when the season starts. We will concentrate on survival first and then see where we end up.

Are you certain about that Quietman?

A decision has been promised this weekend - I'm looking forward to resolution, whatever it may be, on the KP issue.

There are a lot of clubs who would really like to have him next season.
