West Brom to sign Paddy McCourt

It is being reported in the Irish Daily Mirror that Paddy McCourt is close to joining West Bromwich Albion. The Derry City player is out of contract in November and his club are keen to cash in now with the prospect of losing him in January for nothing.


McCourt is quoted by the newspaper as saying: "Many wouldn`t argue that the Premier League is the best in the world. If it does come off I`ll look forward to it very much. But I`d be lying if I said it wasn`t a bit daunting."

Could McCourt be the little gem to replace Gera? We shall see but if Tony Mowbray wants him there is obviously something about him that suggests he can cut it in the Premier League.
