Morrison’s West Brom Wembley Dream

James Morrison has admitted that it is a case of ‘dream come true’ as he looks set to feature in a Wembley Cup…semi-final.

Wembley is set to host both semi-finals following many years of using our neighbours gaff at Villa Park and the likes of Old Trafford, Hillsborough etc.

Whilst for the Premier League purists and penny pinching Football Association the idea of the lower-league semi-final draws has been a dream-gone-badly-wrong, for James Morrison, his Albion team mates and the players of Barnsley and Cardiff City it is an excellent chance to play at the national stadium.

“It is a dream come true to play at Wembley. We are going there and it is just an added bonus really.

“But we said again in the dressing room after the game that our main aim is to get promoted.”

Morrison opened the scoring as the Bristol Rovers keeper spilled what had looked like a bread and butter collection following a weak shot, however the 21-year-old midfielder has tried to convince the masses that it was harder than it looked:

“The first goal was the most important - and I got it - but it is a team game and I was just there at the right time to get us on our way.

“To be fair to the keeper, he got up quite quickly, and if I hadn't concentrated I would have missed.

“The easy ones are the ones you miss, but I was on hand and slotted it in easy so I am delighted.”

All fascinating comments from James, who could be set for his 5th final despite his young age having represented Middlesbrough in the Youth FA Cup and UEFA Cup finals, and for the England Under-20’s in the European Championships!
