Vital WBA: Rovers Boss Proud

Bristol Rovers boss Paul Trollope has spoken of his pride, despite the thumping his team were given live on BBC One by an excellent West Bromwich Albion side to reach the FA Cup Semi-Final.

After an almost-even first half, Tony Mowbrary’s mean turned on the style to fire themselves into a Wembley date with Harry Redknapp’s Premier League side Portsmouth.

Talking to the official Bristol Rovers website, Trollope said:

“I'm proud of the players. It wasn't to be for us this evening, but we've done well to get this far in the competition and today we came up against a very good team who deserved to go through.

“Results like tonight's can work in two ways, and one thing we don't want to let happen is for the season to fizzle out. We need to pat ourselves on the back for reaching the quarter-finals of the FA Cup, and look at what can still be achieved in the league if we put our minds to it.”
