FA Cup: West Brom Draw Portsmouth

The one Premier League club left in this seasons rather surprising FA Cup tournament will face West Brom in the semi-final to be held at Wembley.

All three of the remaining Championship sides were undoubtedly hoping to avoid Harry Redknapp's men (with the exception of Luke Steele, who would have been ineligible to face us) and it’s the most likely promotion candidates that will get an early taste of Premiership football.

The draw in full, all 2 matches of it:

Barnsley v Cardiff
West Brom v Portsmouth

Both ties will take place at Wembley Stadium on the weekend of the 5/6 April.

Could have done without drawing Pompey...no offense chaps would have preferred to come across you in the final!

So you've stuffed the Pirates of Bristol. Now you face the Dreadnoughts of Pompey. We are ready for you.

We can win this if we use the same attitude again. Hopefully it won't be a distraction to our promotion charge but loving the ride.

You are right promotion must be priority and Wembley will be a distraction if players hold back points will be dropped and the precious prize will slip away.

Boing Boing Baggies will go bouncing out the Cup... I'm glad we got you are you are by far the best of the three left in the competitiona nd it'llensure Pompey don't take the game lightly.. It'll be interesting to see how our defence copes with your front line as it seems they can score for fun ... Hope you lose the semi but get promoted at the expense of Brum... You'd settle for that wouldn't ya ??
